Farash, 53, was born and raised on the Lower East Side of Manhattan at 11 moved to Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey and then The University of Miami graduating in 1984 with a B.B.A. in Accounting & Finance (Dean’s List).
Farash was very involved in the University of Miami Yearbook his Junior & Senior Years. He also was involved in an organization which offered free tutoring to students studying the general principles of accounting (GAAP).
After graduating Farash worked in the computer software and service industry.
Farash started All Service Computer Rental (ASCR) in 1986. Farash was CEO and President for 15 years until 2001. In 1996 he sold the majority interest of the company to Prospect Street Venture Capital.
After leaving the conventional business world Farash has been involved in several social awareness activities and charitable endeavors. Farash departed from a high-paying position in the business world because “it was getting too harsh…(and)…I felt my time and energy would be betters pent in endeavors that could possibly improve society.” Farash has also made several informative documentaries that have never been publically released.
